Cheek, tongue and lip retractors are therefore used to help hold open a patient’s mouth so that the dentist can work effectively. But dental retractors are often uncomfortable, take up space in the mouth, and require the dental assistant to hold them, reducing the capacity of the assistant.

All you need to do is press the two tabs together, slip it inside the mouth, and the Umbrella retractor opens and eases itself around the soft tissues.
