The Benchmark Dental Adhesive You Trust

Dental adhesives are vital to restorative dentistry and the 3MTM ScotchbondTM Universal Plus Adhesive from Solventum has made all-in-one solutions competitive. The Plus keeps all the benefits of the original 3M Scotchbond Universal Adhesive, while adding even greater control and predictability.

There is no mixing required and bond strength is reliably consistent – because a good dental adhesive should not be measured by bond strength alone.

Advancing forward from the original

The new Plus system has built on the successful formula of the 3M Scotchbond Universal Adhesive, keeping everything that made it so successful, while further refining its effectiveness.

New features of the 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive:

  • Added radiopacity to help prevent misdiagnosis from X-rays.
  • Bonds and seals caries-affected dentine for a more complete restoration.
  • Allows for advanced bonding to dental and restorative substrates, including glass ceramics.
  • Full dual- and self-cure compatibility without the need for an additional dual-cure activator bottle.
  • Free of BPA derivatives such as BisGMA, for increased patient safety.

An Ideal Dental Adhesive For Caries-affected Dentine

Have confidence when performing minimally invasive preparations with the 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive. Unlike other dental adhesives, the Plus has the same high bond strength when adhering to caries-affected dentine as it does to sound dentine.

In addition to the excellent quality of the restoration margins, it seals caries-affected dentine by forming a well-defined, void-free hybrid layer. The quality of this layer is what prevents secondary decay, so restoration margins are vital.

The chart shows just how effective the 3M Scotchbond Universal Plus Adhesive bond strength is, comparing both caries-affected and sound dentin, and self-etch and total-etch techniques.
